Olmert calls on Katsav to resign    Yaakov Lappin
1. I beleave him...the media has its agenda
Daniel ,   Tekoa   (01.24.07)
2. He's inocent till proven otherwise!
Billy ,   Burlington, Canada   (01.24.07)
3. I believe him and i will keep on believing
he is innocent until he is proven guilty at an honest court that goes acc. to Jewish law. Notice how the so many people telling him to resign have their own issues to fix up. They are just so happy the spotlight is not on them.
Bush ,   usa   (01.24.07)
4. Support the President who gave your country everything!!
I think the plot to put the President into disrepute is the start of the country going down and it looks like Israel has lost its way and is getting into an infighting which is very dangerous for the country. Support your president who for many years put the foundation to many institutions which makes Israel what it is today and stand behind him because he's not trying to hide anything from anyone and its more like a plot against him then an actual criminal investigation with a real case to follow.
Masoud ,   London   (01.24.07)
5. 1 of 2 either he's lost his mind or he's innocent!
(01.24.07)
6. It make me think twice!!!!
corine ,   israel   (01.24.07)
7. hypocrisy! anyone believe olmert will resign when indicted?!
(01.24.07)
8. i bet its another conspiracy

zelda ,   israel   (01.24.07)
9. I thought twice, now I know he's nuts !
(01.24.07)
10. He's Paranoid and needs to be impeached
The guy blew his top. Moshe Katsav blames everyone but himself. The Police are lying, the Justice Ministry is corrupt, The Media are brainwashing the public, The secretary's ( all six, some were too long ago) are lying. The only one is Moshe Katsav, one and only holy, just man in Israel. He is a disaster to Israel, get him out, and quick !
Fred Ex   (01.24.07)
11. He convinced me, get rid of him !
If I had any doubts, they're gone now. This guy thinks he is G-d and can do what he wants. He said " of all the hundreds of girls who worked for me, they only found 6 who complained that I sexually harrased them " I got news for you Moshe, one should be enough ! disgusting.
Elisa ,   Raanana   (01.24.07)
12. Disengagement of the President
B"H What affects the ordinary citizen affects the highest leader. President Moshe Katzav is holding an impassioned press conference in Beit Hanasi in Jerusalem and defending himself against charges of sexual misconduct. Katzav has been tearing into Israel's media and police in the news conference, accusing them of collaborating in a lynch against him and a campaign of brainwashing. Katzav claims that Beit Hanasi's legal advisor has been in hospital for four months as a result of the police's questioning. He says the police threatened a Haredi woman who wished to testify in his favor. He says police told another witness who wished to testify in his favor: "watch out for your family." Katzav claims Attorney General Mazuz unfairly influenced the investigation against him when he said to the media at an early stage of the investigation that he believed Katzav was lying. He accuses the media and police of violating "every tenet of natural justice." He claims the women accusing him of misconduct did it out of vengefulness and to defend themselves against charges of blackmail.
Steve ,   USA   (01.24.07)
13. Israel calls on Olmert to resign every day
HA
Meni   (01.24.07)
14. Katzav has lost his mind
Tamar   (01.24.07)
15. Moshe, go home.
And by home I mean prison.
Aviv ,   Ashdod   (01.24.07)
16. The man just... lost it...
Amir   (01.24.07)
17. Peres wants the job and said so before the accusations
And Peres always gets what he wants. Let Peres, Olmert, Livni, and the rest of the government resign. There has to be another, honest election in Israel, not one engineered by the USA! Katsav is INNOCENT has been despicably, and deliberately set up by those who want to destroy Israel.
Nannette ,   London, UK   (01.24.07)
18. Does anybody know his mothers name
I would really like to pray for him. I understand he is very hurt and as a Jewish brother of his I would like to support him through this terrible ordeal. I am not one to say he is guilty like some nasty talkbackers and Israelis who claim to be Jewish but with no heart. Of course if something like this happened to those calling for his resignation and they were really innocent I am sure they would commit suicide by now. Where I come from which is America and as a Jew who keeps the Torah either way there is a democratic freedom to every individual whether to be proven innocent or guilty in the end, that until then he is innocent. If the secular Jews cannot keep their Torah law because of their arrogance and attitude to anything religious at least learn from a democratic country as America to freakin ease off on him until the verdict comes in. And if you want a country with laws like Iraq or Iran who you guys are so similar to, then go there.
Bush ,   USA   (01.24.07)
19. It seems like everyone has already done his trial!
Innocent until proven guilty, but in this country it is: guilty until proven innocent. No-one has given the President the time of the day for self defense until today, he decided to open his mouth. It will be remembered for a long time. He finally exposed what is going on, now that he has nothing to loose. Heed his words.
steve ,   Israel   (01.24.07)
20. everyone is lying but Katsav - give me a break !
4 women are lying: grand larceny: fraud and breach of trust; plus wiretapping. Police said that they were still gathering evidence to support further suspicions that Katsav may also have harassed a witness and disrupted judicial procedures. Sure it's all been invented to make him look bad.
redmike ,   tel aviv - Israel   (01.24.07)
21. "another conspiracy" ? - and 7 men rule the world of course
Sure Peres (whom I don't much like) bribed 4 women, somehow caused the police to invent grand larceny, fraud, breach of trust, and wiretapping charges. Oh and he somehow caused the police to suspect that Katsav harassed a witness and disrupted judicial procedures. Does this sound logical to you ?
redmike ,   tel aviv - Israel   (01.24.07)
22. welcome to the real democracy, wasn't it Roman
it takes only a speaker to flip the public opinion 180 degrees
(01.24.07)
23. katzav
he spoke against everything that a democratic country has in its favour. he simply should go home with the "SUPPORT" of his family. he does not belong in the residence of the president - NOT THE WAY HE SPOKE ON TV. He is losing control. He is ruining the image of this country.
sas ,   israel   (01.24.07)
24. eliza, raanana
I suppose, eliza, that you are mad. Indeed, if you read with a more quiet mind, you would be able to comprehend that what the President was implying that out of 100 or so women who worked for him only six had the utmost indecency to claim of being sexually molested by him. Apologize.
avi ,   ashdod   (01.24.07)
25. Enough Katsav, Evict the Scoundrel Olmert Already
Y net & Israeli Media are switching too much public focus over to Katsav. Hiding behind this smoke screen is Israel's most corrupt & damaging #1 Menace, PM Bolmert. Throw him OUT Already!!!!!!!!!!!!
Enraged Victim ,   israel   (01.24.07)
26. #25 is right
Let us get rid of all the scoundrels in govt, banking and business.Along with cleaning up the unions, police, welfare cheats and organized crime. Let us have a fair press and judicial system.
jason white ,   afula,israel   (01.24.07)
27. guilty till proven innocent!
yosef ,   diaspora   (01.24.07)
28. President's press conference
It was great. Really great. I have only one thing to add: despite this unprecedented hate campaign and humiliation, despite the mount of false information, despite the lunatic media reports, there are also those who never ever had any doubt about the President's innocence. It was a very brave decision that He did not give in to blackmailing and did not surrender to lies and manipulation.
Naomi   (01.24.07)
29. Why are all politicians scumbags???
DR ,   Florida, USA   (01.24.07)
30. Let Olmert resign too!
If Katsav must resign than so should Olmert. He's been under suspicion of 10 differnt kinds of corruption in recent months. We know Olmert is guilty of raping the country and still he is allowed to sit in PM'S seat. Throw the bum out and stop with this diversion. Katsav never raped anyone. If he did - let him be convicted in the courts - NOT LYNCHED IN THE SICK ISRAELI MEDIA!
marya ,   sacramento, USA   (01.24.07)
