i can't understand how the usa did what it did with this bogus revelation. what were they thinking?

It may be time for the Arabian states to do their own heavy liftin this time around. The US, UK and other allies helped to protect SA in 1991 but we are busy in 2 other wars right now. Its not like they have helped us that much in Iraq to date. 40% of the insurgents in Iraq are Saudi. I think its time the Arabs flew their own jets, fired their own tanks, and leveraged their own economies against Iran instead of waiting for America to do their dirty work again. We may be the biggest and the baddest on the planet but not even the mighty US can do everything for everyone. They have all helped us to date when it comes to our economy and not swaying when it comes to using the dollar as the peg against their currency but for us to wage another war, whether very limit or all out annialation would do great harm to our politics and economy. The US should and most likely will have to sit this one out, or at least play a very minimal role when it comes to direct confrontation to Iran.

as you say, the arabs are just sitters. they are not doersc and never were. as it stands, the usa will not go into a conflict against iran to save the arab ass. however, israel would to save its ass and indirectly, saudi arabia will maybe thank israel one day? doubtful.

Its amazing how some in Israel and US now view Saudi Arabia and the rest of Arab regimes as a "moderate." They are anything but and are the real source of terror in the middle east. Israel can and never should rely on these pathetic tyrannical regimes. They are illegitimate, undemocratic, archaic, WEAK and totally unreliable. The funny thing is non-Arab Iran is the country most forcefully advocating for the Arab cause of the Palestinians. Ahmadinejad is an idiot with no power and his disgusting bluster is just talk. The real power is Khamanie and has always been (since Khomainy died). He is a greedy mullah and will do a deal with anyone including Israel and US for the right price! Its time to deal with him and get rid of this "moderate" Arab coalition fantasy. Such talk is desperate and Israel and US with their economical and military might do not need to indulge in fantasies but have to swollow a bit of pride. We and Israel miscalculated in Iraq and mistakes have consequences. A deal is really possible and the price is acknowledging the realities that Iran is the power of the gulf region. The Iranians are NOT suicidal as they want to run the middle east not destroy it!
