The UN has lost its power on the world stage. nobody cares what the UN has to say... because the UN is a democratic entity... democracy works in countries, but not as a world governing body. how can you have over 100 Moslem votes Vrs 1 Jewish vote, Israel might as well divide itself up to 400 small Jewish states and get 400 votes in the UN. UN is a democratic entity composed, to a large extent, of non-democratic states. Hence, committees on human rights presided over by Libya and similar. As an idea, it would be and could be good. As implemented, it leaves somewhat to be desired.
