Israel says it will not attend Durban II conference    Neta Sela
1. wromg, we have to tackle the enemy directly
(02.24.08)
2. Waiting for French president Sarkozy to reject the ...
...conference as well. It would be a good example to set for other European countries.
Eric ,   Montreal   (02.24.08)
3. I like her. We shop for value
Where'd you get that handbag? It's ingenious.
Ypip ,   Canada   (02.24.08)
4. We'll Now See What Sarkozy is Made Of
I'd like to see Sarkozy boycott this -- but I bet he won't have the guts to do it, since Islamofascist youths now rule the streets of France. I also wonder what Australia will do, now that they have a hard-left government in power. I have no doubt that a Howard-led government would have boycotted, but the Labour government has some real Jew-haters in it.
Eric R. ,   USA   (02.24.08)
5. Durban11
Being a State borne through a UN resolution,Israel should recognize the UN as a source of legitimacy and should adhere to its principles. Its time for Israel to normalize itself.
Gadees ,   Vanc.   (02.24.08)
6. #5 Wrong. Israel would have come into being regardless
of what the UN thought.
So there!   (02.24.08)
7. Is that a larger to smell - whoo!
Ypip ,   Canada   (02.25.08)
8. Don't make this a
D&R at Zellers - Please
Ypip ,   Canada   (02.25.08)
9. Interesting how they like to
normalize us from all directions over more than when I became knee-high to a grasshopper.
Ypip ,   Canada   (02.25.08)
10. #5, what resolution was that?
from recollection the non-binding partition resolution was rejected and Israel came into being because it fought a war against 5 arab armies in 1% of its population was killed - equivalent to 35,000 Palestinians in the territories - and 2% wounded.
Danny   (02.25.08)
11. Gadees ..............Vanc.
are you ok ?
(02.25.08)
12. Humm...
Lets see. Some israeli dont travel abroad cos they are accused of war crimes in many conuntries. Now Israel dont go to Durban II cos its dont want to heard that what they are doing with the palestinians is racism! Better dont go, cos its racism!!
Niva dos santos ,   SP - Brazil   (02.25.08)
13. Kind of amazed she had to say it
It's as if the Arabs and their apologists have to be hit on the head and reminded water is wet. Of course they need to stay away. It will simply be one raging genocidal antisemitic mob, no matter what the UN pretends. In fact if I were Israel I would empty the prisons of all Palestinians and send them all to Durban to kill and commit arson and whatever else they do. South Africa is THE most hostile country to Israel in the world, among those not actually at war with Israel. I couldn't think of a more fitting honor for them but to host thousands of raging Palestinian terrorists. With any luck they'll do the natural thing and kill one another.
Steve from Raleigh   (02.25.08)
14. Is the wind ok?
Ypip ,   Canada   (02.25.08)
15. Durban 11
The UN has lost its power on the world stage. nobody cares what the UN has to say... because the UN is a democratic entity... democracy works in countries, but not as a world governing body. how can you have over 100 Moslem votes Vrs 1 Jewish vote, Israel might as well divide itself up to 400 small Jewish states and get 400 votes in the UN. The UN is a pathetic organisation that nobody would listen to even if they had something important to say. Durban 11 is just more proof why Israel shouldn't give any attention to the UN
Anon ,   Johannesburg   (02.25.08)
16. RE #15
UN is a democratic entity composed, to a large extent, of non-democratic states. Hence, committees on human rights presided over by Libya and similar. As an idea, it would be and could be good. As implemented, it leaves somewhat to be desired.
