a) Police do not always have to fire in the air, esp if they are endangering the lives of the public by their hesitation. I currently live in UK, which has one of the best Police forces in the western world. When a beserk lawyer was shooting up the town fro his apartment window, the police did not risk their own or the public's lives by shooting in the air. They shot and killed the crackpot with the shotgun. b) This kind of attitude in the Israeli "rosh katan" attitude was displayed in the first bulldozer attack, where the policewoman did not kill the terrorist, but allowed him to murder an innocent young mother. This is criminal negligence by the Israeli police. 3) This is not a police function, it is a military function as well as self defence. If a car or bulldozer is coming at you at high speed, shooting in the air will not always stop the driver. 4) What would you suggest that Israel does , should iran fire a nuclear weapon at them, phone up Ahmadinejad and ask him to stop it, or fire back with full force, and try to prevent the weapon form destroying israel?

not work in security. We are taught to open fire to kill if there is a danger to human life. It is easier to kill than to apprehend. It is better to kill a terrorist or murderer,before he or she kills or hurts another victim. The orders are stupid. They should kill terrorists and not apprehend them

Was there life in danger ? . They have stopped them , arrested them . To kill immediately ? when human life is truly endangered , yes , if it can protect those endangered . An arrested one can be very useful too , can reveal much sometimes , while a death one renains silent .
