1. Hate malls
I am a religious 60 year old woman and I hate malls!! Too much noise, lights, and commotion.

2. if you have seen 1 Israeli mall you have seen them all
I cant stand them
Every single mall no matter what part of the country your in has the same basic architecture ( clones ) you get exactly the same stores in all the malls.
If we are going to have all these shopping malls how about a little variety on the stores we will find and the basic look of the mall itself.

3. Impressions of Israel Malls
In a word: Utilitarian
That's what sums it up. It's a one stop big box to purchase groceries, go to the bank, send a few letters, maybe purchase clothes, and that's it.
It's not a place to hang out. Go in, get items, get out.
For hanging out the park is a good bet. It's a place to meet people and get exercise too.

5. Of course religious visit malls less...
They've got no money to splash - why? because THEY DON'T WORK!

6. Main street israel
I for one prefer main street Israel. The little hole in the wall shops where you can find all kinds of surprises. Unfortunately, those shops are an endangered species.

7. I, too, prefer Main Street
I grew up in South Florida, the land of freeways, shopping centers (malls) and parking lots. After more than 20 years in DC, I've become a "city boy". I go out to the "burbs" only when I have to.
Distant malls do untold damage to city centers, which should be a communty's culture centers. So I prefer to support my city. Perhaps Israel should look to create "urban malls" - yes, they do exist. We've got a couple in DC.

8. Cool in summer, warm and dry in winter
Free parking, in my city. I use 'em and love 'em. We have a very small one near us, a bigger one over the main road, and of course Avnat, a very pleasant quite large one. A lift and a bridge lead to it, plus parking facilities. I choose underground parking every time.

9. Nom , in my town
You forgot something , the Avnat is a smoke free one , and almost everyone obeys this . And what a great bridge we have there .

10. Raymond in DC
I remember seeing in DC. It was near where the Capital Bank was if I remember correctly. It had a tower records store in it. I found that one to be a bit small though.

11. Charlie, Charlie
Try the math, divide 14.6 billion by 3.5 and the result is 4.17 million.
Approximate value of NIS to the $ = 3.4/3.6.

12. Malls
Everybody goes to the malls here. Religious, secular, goyim, you name it.
If one is looking for a variety of things, that's the place to go.
More stuff from the Dead Sea sold in malls here by Israeli emigres than you can imagine.
When price matters, one has much choice.
