This amounts to punishing those who have nothing to do with Shalit being held. Some of these comments are misguided and missplaced. Many times Palestinians are criticized for not building their own economy yet this sits as proof that those who are trying are unable to.

Why does the government continue to engage in such things when it harms Israel's image (and that of all Jews) in the world every bit as much or more than it harms the Palestinians. Israel should either release the goods or pay the Palestinians for them if they intent to steal them permanently.
