Soldiers who protested settlement evacuation get jail time    Hanan Greenberg
1. Barak
Barak punishes soldiers for breaking military law. Funny how he did not punish officers for breaking military law by ignoring a court order and destroying Jewish homes. Funny how he did not punish himself for breaking the law by not following a court order to destroy illegal Arab building. Funny how he did not punish himself for illegal campaign funding to the tune of 15 million shekels.

2. Yeah! Sure! Keep the BRAVE soldiers from serving in combat
or becoming an officer so people who would say "I was just following orders" will get those jobs. Yea. Right. This decision is as smart as dirt.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (11.16.09)
3. WHAT GOES AROUND COMES
AROUND.I look forward to the day when Israeli Generals and politicians are arrested in Britain or Europe and jailed ,it is just a question of time. They will then know how it feels. But they are cowards, they always run away.
LAWRENCE RAP ARTISTE ,   SAFED ISRAEL   (11.16.09)
4. BARAK THE BIG SPENDER
Likes to spend millions of shekels on hotel rooms at others expense.Just a short fat ponce. When he can no longer abuse poor palestinians he abuses the finest and most highly motivated soldiers in the I.D.F. FOR SHAME.
LAWRENCE RAP ARTISTE ,   SAFED ISRAEL   (11.16.09)
5. STAGE 1 .EVICTION OF JUDEN

6. these soldiers dont want an 8 mile wide Israel
those jews that do are 1) naive of the geography of Israel 2) have a self destructive mentality 3) hate their own people GOOD FOR THESE CHAYALIM

7. Study the lead up to the firing on the Altalena
.to understand where Israel is heading today. Very sad...Israel is unraveling due to the fact that it has ceased to be a Jewish State rather it is today a State of Jews. When you throw Jews out of their homes and you make it official State policy you have abrogated the right to call yourselves a Jewish State. You are a state of Jews and so you are on very shaky ground

8. Kein Yirbu! May many, many more follow your admirable act

9. Nonetheless, Israel is a military
society and is defined by its military. If the military falls apart, Israel falls apart. If the military is sufficiently damaged by dissension, then Israel is significantly damaged. These current activities are very dangerous for Israel. I would also add that the refusal of the Chareidim to join (although they have been joining in significantly greater numbers in the past two years) is also threatening. In addition, the irresponsibility and outright sedition of secular elements (mainly the children of the elite from Tel Aviv) to join by utilizing (phoney) pacifist excuses as well as psychological and psychiatric ones, is also a threat to our unity. Our unity is our strength in the face of an overwhelming Arab population which, fortunately for us, is not unified. So as much as I appreciate the religious Zionist movement and involvement in Israel, their current activities portend some dangerous trends and therefore must be defeated.

10. PATRIOTS
THESE A PATRIOTS WHO SPEOPK UP AND PAYING THE PRICE WITH DIGNITY , BRAVO REAL JEWS :- ) THE CLASSY JEWS SPAOKEN BY ABRAHAM JOSHUA HESCHEL 1907-1972 :-) HIS INSPIRATION BROUGHT ME THOUGH THUS FAR IN LIFE ;-)
BENJAMIN ,   SINGAPORE   (11.17.09)
11. Why use the army?
Isn't there enough police to follow the dictates of the courts? Why use soldiers to do this? Or create a national guard to handle this stuff. It's not right to force soldiers to do this dirty work. That goes for taking Pals off their illegal homes as well.
nr ,   los angeles, usa   (11.17.09)
12. The IDF was created to protect Jews and their homes.
The soldiers who refuse to expel Jews from their homes are national heroes and must be treated as such. The IDF was created to protect Jews and their homes. To misuse the IDF and Israeli police to expel Jews is a monstrous and intolerable perversion. There is no rational comparison between the heroic refusal to expel Jews and the leftist refusal to serve and protect Israel.
Chaim ,   Israel   (11.17.09)
13. What happened to those who refuse to serve in the military?
There are many who refuse to server in the Israeli military (there been several thousands of them), to do their duty as Israeli citizens. Do they go to Jail too?, I doubt, it. They got off too easily; they should go to Jail too.
Judd Rusnak ,   Sydney, Australia   (11.17.09)
14. not enough
there punishment is not enough to deter others, a disonerable discharge would have been better,it would send a clear message
marko ,   tel aviv   (11.17.09)
15. the IDF is a professional military (Chaim #12)
It takes its orders from the government. You have a problem with their actions you must seek to resolve this through legal channels. Not all Jews act in the interests of the country as a whole. You cannot refuse to carry out legal actions. Judea and Samaria will not be part of Israel. By continued settlement there we're just giving the Palestinians more excuses. Military involvement would never have been necessary if people would simply comply with the laws. Resisting the army is expensive and dangerous. We must stand united against our enemies, but this means compromise on the left and the right. Tiny settlements like Negohot are only justified by the far right. They have to be dismantled. All of them.
Avinoam ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (11.17.09)
