I am always at a loss to understand how Barenboim is so anxious to show his solidarity with the Palestinians and use the young Israelis as his personal pawn.

As for the mostly Muslim Arabs now known as "Palestinians", they need to take a good look at themselves and take responsibility for their predicament. They and the wider Arab world has had many chances ('47 and prior and several other times, the last of which was in '00?) to bring about peace and a state, but they chose otherwise. Perhaps you should (re)read my earlier post regarding Arab/Muslim culture and violence, both internal (vs each other) and external (vs others). With respect to the evil wall, it was the result of their terror. For 35 years there was no wall! Their losses and Israeli losses of the past 5 years are the result of their preference for violence over negotiations. Not everyone needs to use violence to achieve their goals...ever hear of Ghandi or Martin Luther King, they didn't lose their humanity, did they? By the way, the English Muslim Pakistanis that detonated in London weren't suffering...now were they? With respect to Israel, I don't hold extreme right or religious fanatical ideas in case you were wondering. I support the two state solution and the Gaza disengagement. I would also advise the rest of the world to disengage from the Arab/Muslim world for it's own good, at least until there is a major change!

Daniel will be most welcome in Ramallah. Music is for building bridges of peace and understanding among human beings. Enemies of peace and humanity won't like what he is doing of course. At one point he was barred from entering Ramallah by the Israeli occupation authorities.

What's new? There have always been Jews like this man who love to love the enemies of their own people.

Although the idea of making music together with Palestinians, Arabs and Jews is in essence a good idea, I do think that it is a tad insensitive of Mr. Barenboim to have a concert in Ramallah, of all places, and right now, after another suicide bombing. Although it is nice to think that there are peace loving individuals there, I also think that good timing is not exactly one of Daniel's talents. This is not a good moment to have one of these "let's just all learn to live with each other and love one another" events, no matter how good the intentions are. We are in the midst of yet another horrible upheaval and internal turmoil; people were just murdered in Netanya, for g-d's sake! Out of respect for those victims, I think that Mr. Barenboim should take the music to a more neutral zone. Maybe Switzerland. Whatever...He should just have a little more feeling for what is going on here.
