A country without exports is a country in deep troubles. Export prices to the US are in USD. When a manufacturer gets fewer and fewer Shekels due to the forex, people lose their jobs and factories shut down or move to china. Kapish?

i live in america now, yes, but i just moved from israel last year, and rent, houses, and cars are all done in dollars not shekels. how would you like your landlord in new york to tell you your rent is going to be x # of euros every month instead of in dollars? but you live in america and get paid in dollars, but because the euro is stronger than the dollar, your landlord charges you rent in euros. that's what i'm talking about.

The dollar arrangement works to your advantage. If I was living in Germany and paying rent in dollars, I would be saving a lot of money, because the Euro is stronger than the Dollar. I know that things are not right in Israel, but a weak Dollar can be used to your advantage.
