1. Dear Hendel, Israelis understand one thing, then peace comes
Palestinian   (07.04.10)
2. Lets switch sides
Bob ,   France   (07.04.10)
Lets switch the situation of the palestinians and israelis. And then ask the israelis, that for now, the only thing needed is quiet while palestinanians are grabbing every day more and more of your land.
3. Relative quiet comes from giving Arab terror a big wack
Sam ,   Canada   (07.04.10)
There is no easy solution for overcoming the Arab belief that they have the population numbers to eventually overcome Israel. Talks are just useful to them to get Western money and territorial concessions. Periods of quiet come from Israel responding to Arab terror with a big military wack.
4. Non-Leftists live in reality & Leftists live another planet!
(07.04.10)
5. Bingo.
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (07.04.10)
The article gets today's "Reuven Brauner Bingo Award".
6. Mr.Hendel Always there must be calm before storm
Salma ,   Palestine   (07.04.10)
Peace process effort is a charade....It is foolhardy to expect Abu Mazen to make any undertakings regarding the right of return or Jerusalem,he simply can not even if he wanted to.....The peace process will fail because the American sponsor is not serious enough to force "Israel" to dismantle settlements, so we have no other choice but to continue our struggle in every legitimate way.... We will not wait forever
7. #1+6 - Be careful what you ask for..
Yosef Levy ,   Tel Aviv   (07.04.10)
the coming storm will probably mean the flushing of your people into Jordan, your natural homeland, and you can call it Palestine.
8. Palestinian State
jdledell ,   USA   (07.04.10)
Does Hendel really believe that in a generation that there will be enough land to make a viable Palestinian state? Based on the building that has happened this generation, I rather doubt it. That being the case, what do you do with the Palestinians if no viable state can exist?
9. All Israelis want is 'quiet'...
Mikesailor ,   Miami, FL   (07.04.10)
while they continue to steal more land and kill more Palestinians. Sort of like a thief wants 'quiet' and not to be bothered by such pesky concepts as 'law' or 'justice'. What a hypocrite.
10. # 6
Andreas Grefen ,   Remscheid, Germany   (07.04.10)
Whoever writes "Israel" in quotation marks, reveals his true intentions. How can you expect the State of Israel to make any concessions, if Palestinians like you still strive for its destruction? You will have to choose, whether you want to achieve your Palestinian independence or to continue your hopeless struggle against Israel's right of existence.
11. Peace
Albrecht Klein ,   Germany   (07.04.10)
The problem is that "peace" means for Muslims something completely different, i.e., the expansion of Dar al-Islam on all regions that are not yet under the rule of Islam.
12. The Arabs have no interestsin peace
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (07.04.10)
Until they stop their attempts at genocide there is no chance there will ever be peace. We have a very long wait until then, and that will never occur as long as the anti-Semitic west funds their terrorism.
13. Build our land! Who needs a "peace deal with Palestinians"?
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.04.10)
Israel needs to destroy Iran's nukes and massively build our Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria. That will secure out nation forever. While "Palestinians" dream of creating a new terror state on our land, we must make Judea and Samaria home to more than 1,000,000 Jews. Who needs a "peace deal with Palestinians"? Not us. Israel has nothing to gain and EVERYTHING to lose from it.
14.  No peace.
Brad ,   USA   (07.04.10)
No peace at all. If there ever was true peace with muslim nations, that would mean that the muslim nations would be dominant, and everyone else subservient. That means war with muslim nations is better than peace. That means never ending war with muslim nations is better than peace.
15. reply to yoaz hendel
(07.04.10)
The author fails to appreciate the urgent necessity of dealing with the existential threat to Israel that the absence of a peace solution poses. Quiet which does not actively pursue a solution is illusory. It allows all the hatred and ignorance to fester and build up for the future. By active, I mean Israel taking the initiative to create the confidence that will make an agreed upon peace possible.
16. Peace is an illusion
Fivish ,   London, UK   (07.04.10)
Peace cannot be made with the Arabs. They were given 78% of the proposed Jewish National Home as an illegal act of appeasement in 1922. Did that bring peace? NO! Despite laws and treaties giving the Jews all the land west of the Jordan river, the Arabs will never be satisfied until there are no Jews in the middle east. That of course will never happen. Israel is re-born and eternal. So peace is a very long way off. Perhaps when the oil runs out.
17. The Arabs
RickD ,   USA   (08.04.10)
are either at your feet or at your throat. The Jews find it hard to choose because they are too honorable. In the end though they will have to choose.
18. Peace will come!
Mikael ,   Europe   (08.04.10)
You made peace with Egypt, was that so difficult? Now you are in cooperation. Apply the same concept as Egypt to Syria, and you will have peace with Syria. It is a winning concept. Now take that concept to forge peace with Palestine, you will see it is not that hard. There are a lot of smart people out there to help if you need it. Peace will come, Israel will be dragged, kicking and screaming all the way there.
19. And in the meantime - domineer - brilliant!
op ,   ni   (08.04.10)
20. #18 Peace depends on resounding Israeli victory.
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.04.10)
Mikhail, You don't seem to understand that historically long periods of peace are preceded by resounding military victories. WW II is a classic example. The Allies' resounding victory over Germany and Japan, with no concessions, brought seemingly eternal peace to Europe and Asia. Likewise peace between Israel and "Palestinians" requires resounding Israeli victory with no concessions.
21. Peace
Sagi   (10.04.10)
will never exist between Islam and the rest of the world. Israel, at this moment, is their excuse to keep the flame alive. After Israel they will demand Spain, remember, this is also "stolen land". Please do not make any mistake about it the agenda of Islam is to take over the world, slice by slice, even if it takes a 1000 years. Israel is the West's first line of defense and the sooner others wake up to this fact the better.
