NBC making film about Kiryat Yam

American network to produce documentary focusing on northern Israeli city, including rumors of mermaid spotted off its shores

American NBC network has decided to make a documentary film on the northern Israeli city of Kiryat Yam as a coastal town.

 

The film will be prepared by a crew engaged in producing films on journeys, adventures and challenges across the world, similar to National Geographic. Every year the crew visits different countries focuses on one or two unique sites in each country.

 

In Israel the crew chose to focus on Masada and Kiryat Yam. One of the issues the film will deal with is the media uproar created after fishermen claimed to have spotted a mermaid off the city's shores.

 

Kiryat Yam Mayor Shmuel Siso has expressed his satisfaction with the global interest in his city.
