PA to defer September UN bid

Ramallah decided to delay its motion for status upgrade in the United Nations pending results of US presidential elections

Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Malki said Thursday that the Palestinian Authority has decided not to file for a UN status upgrade during the UN General Assembly's September meeting.

 

Al-Malki said that the bid will be submitted at a later date, one that may guarantee a more favorable result for the Palestinians.
