Feiglin removed from Temple Mount again

Likud-Beitenu MK tries to enter Dome of Rock, stopped by member of Waqf, later removed from Temple Mount compound

Knesset Member Moshe Feiglin (Likud-Beiteinu) was stopped at the entrance to the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem's Temple Mount on Monday. A member of the Waqf barred him from entering the restricted zone.

 

Feiglin demanded to be let in on the grounds that he is a Knesset member but was forced out of the Temple Mount compound by police following a gathering of Muslim worshippers who shouted at him "Allahu Akbar."

Last January, the MK was removed from the Temple Mount by an undercover cop and detained for questioning after trying to pray at the site. 

 

Sources close to Feiglin said this isn’t the first time he visited the Temple Mount in order to pray. "If the police want to prevent him from praying at the site for fear of riots they must give a detailed explanation and not just ban the practice," one source said.

 

The sources claim Feiglin was detained and asked to sign a paper stating he will not try to pray at the site again. They noted he refused to sign the paper. Police nevertheless released him with no restrictions.
