Cameri's 'Hamlet' to play in Moscow
Israeli interpretation of Shakespeare classing to be presented at Russian capital's Theater of Nations, opening festival in tribute to English playwright
The Israeli production of "Hamlet", directed by Omri Nitzan, will be opening a Shakespeare festival, dedicated to the English playwright, at the Theater of Nations in Moscow on October 6.
The Tel Aviv Cameri Theater's production, staring actor Itay Tiran in the leading role, will be presented at the Meyerhold Center in Moscow.
The center meets the production's special demands, and allows for the movement of the actors and the audience in a space similar to that of the Cameri's auditorium in Tel Aviv.
The show will be put on in Hebrew, and will be accompanied with simultaneous Russian translation.
The cast, crew and director of the production will be accompanied by a delegation of some 30 members of the International Society of the Cameri Theater, which supports and assists the Cameri's activities and shows abroad.
The hosting Theaters of Nations will also present its version of Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet", which is directed by Vladimir Pankov, and "Hamlet" directed by Oscar Korsanos.
The Nizhny Novgorod youth theatre will also present its interpretation of the play "King Lear"
