Finnish charter flights company Lomamatkat is returning to the Israeli resort town of Eilat after eight years, and will operate 23 direct flights from Finland throughout the winter season.
Ophir Tours CEO Boaz Waxman said over the weekend that his travel agency had signed an agreement with Lomamatkat, which would see Ophir Tours handling all the Finnish tourists' ground arrangements, including hotel rooms in Eilat and tours of Israel .
The Finnish company will operate its flights on planes with 160 seats, aiming to bring some 3,600 tourists from Finland to Eilat during the winter months.
"Our estimate is that the Finnish charter tourism will bring some $4.5 million into Israel in the next six months," said Waxman.
