Pie in the sky
Coming to Israel: Sky high restaurant with prices to match
Please fasten your seatbelts – dinner is served: Israeli thrill-seekers will soon get an opportunity to try out what has become a popular attraction in many major cities across the world: The Dinner in the Sky restaurant.
The restaurant is actually a large table, which can seat up to 22 people. After everyone have buckled up and taken a deep breath, a crane lifts the table, along with a chef and three crew members, to a height of 50 meters, where it remains suspended for the duration of the meal.

Eilon Zada and Tal Lev-Ari, who brought the device to Israel, first encountered the sky high dinner in South Africa. After experiencing it firsthand they decided that Israel was ready for the unusual restaurant that has already swept Tokyo, Dubai, Budapest and Paris.
Zada and Lev-Ari received a franchise from the international company that runs Dinner in the Sky and got a license from the Jaffa Development Company to operate the crane in the city.
The chef chosen to lead the endeavor in Israel is Frank Azulay, who plans to serve diners such dishes as foie gras rolls, lamb ribs and cherry pie. Buffalo wings are, unfortunately, not on the menu.
However, even those bold enough to sign up for this extreme meal might be deterred by its price, which starts at $14,000 for a group of 22.
